Police intimidated ? or told by their superiors to let these masked bums do whatever they want ?
Metal Fans that want to attend concerts, or wear some t-shirt / patch, that others disagree with are being met with violence ?
The ones that start it should not be surprised it is a two way street.
Look into any violent political movement and you will see innocent family members, their friends, and employers also targeted, on BOTH sides.
Well, professional protesters, they don't work for a living, so that leaves their family / friends / lovers to be given extra special attention.

the Montreal Police did not care about a taxpaying venue, or about metalheads buying beer and supporting the economy...
Some longhairs were simply out for a night to have a good time, before going back their mundane jobs on Monday morning, but that just won't do. They are not allowed to do that (yeah, I am being sarcastic).
Not that I am a fan of the Toronto police arresting G20 protesters in 2010 , because it was mainly the peaceniks and innocent bystanders being held in cages and abused, but not the violent / destructive agitators who were busting store windows, setting a police car on fire, etc.
If you were not in the area, then you had nothing to fear. What do these public protests do anyways?

The morons watching the news at 6 o'clock will see only see everyone there as idiot terrorists, including you, even if you were not wearing balaclavas / ski masks.
Glad I don't attend shows, don't attend rallies, don't talk to anyone.
No chance of my limited freedom taken away...but I will enjoy watching this country go down in flames.
Decades ago, a lot of people warned this could happen here.
They escaped the murdering communists in Europe to come here, and now it is starting here.
Worse is better. The only way for some people to wake up and face reality.
