I just noticed that one of the sites I usually check is gone, so quickly searched , and due to a complaint and google blogger refusing to discuss it,
they opened another blog, which for all I know is temporary.

 http://my.cbox.ws/~2-2070747-77t88v

 http://www.guitars101.com/forums/f90/hear-rock-city-53805.html

They may not have enough metal, or enough Canadian downloads, but that's ok, since they had enough there to get me interested!

Hear Rock City covered / covers all sorts of music, and they only shared BOOTLEGS,
not pirate recordings or legal releases.

They would take down anything if there were legitimate complaints, and there were bands from the past like STARZ that appreciated the devotion from the fans that gathered there.

http://hearrockcity2.blogspot.ca/

No thanks to whoever tried to kill their site.
They have enough people co-operating to make their own website/forum if they wanted to (like many other ex-bloggers have done) and then nobody will be able to stop them.

Mark Campagnolo uploaded a file in the group RAZOR.

Here's a treat for all you Razor fans on this long Holiday weekend (here in Canada anyways).
This is a copy of the very first band made fanzine, Razor-The First Two Years 1983-1985.
The band gave these out at shows and to members of The Sons of Mayhem fan club. Enjoy reading & Cheers!

You know what's good? being awake for 24 hours and drinking your meals that follow The German/Bavarian Beer Purity Law! If you dont know, look on wikipedia or something).

Yes, can't wait for the new Protokult album I ordered "No Beer in Heaven", and since I might stay in a good mood, will re-post the Holocaust's Friday The 13th, 1987 show at The Bridge, as well as Beyond's set maybe.
(Mahavoc's set is here )
Just because some asshole has all my flyers, and nobody will share the flyer I need for that Friday show (and other shows/bands), and just because they still haven't installed that third tap in my kitchen where gin should flow out of, and they cancelled the Bay City Rollers TV show in 1979 and...
hey look,
First I downloaded, then I bought a lot of this shit... why can't more of you do the same you cocksuckers? Reminds me, I used to be part of one notorious forum a long time ago and one guy bragged that he would never buy an album/CD he could download, in order to buy other vinyl albums, that are valuable, which he was still too stupid supposedly to rip and upload...

Holocaust !

you want song titles?, find some other websites for that or just download the damn things
I am fed up.
I want to eat pizza, I want to eat a lot of junk food , I want to eat Cheetos, and don't care if I get bitch-tits like Meatloaf did in Fight Club. AAAARRRRGGGHHH !!!!!
But I won't.
Why?
In the meantime, more about me,
At one job I was at for quite awhile, a co-worker was asking about the nicotine patches and gum to quit smoking tobacco.
I said "I tried all those and even that Paxil pill you need a prescription for, and none of it works."
Then he said,
"Yeah, but you don't seem to have a whole lot of willpower....
I am going to ask somebody else."

So, after beating certain addictions, fattening food should be the least of my problems!

and to Mr.Paul Garvey, wherever you are out there, if nobody else offers, then I will sink myself farther into debt and release whatever new album, or old compilation you put together.
(Paul probably knows I am still afraid of him and he will punch me out if I tried to rip him off!)

Beyond (Can) 1987 Inner World Demo @VBR

(this is where the flyer would go)

No idea who the live drummer is.

I had the impression back in 1987 it was Rob Mills, then when I met the guy in 2009, outside a club, unloading when his band Razor played at the Kathedral or whatever on Queen St.W.+Bathurst St., he was very vague and made it seem he only practiced with Beyond a few times.
ONLY band founder Paul Garvey, and the guy who taped all of Beyond's rehearsals and live performances,Dave Busch, can verify what is what.

Thanks to Steve Spewgore for a few of these demos! I never properly thanked him for them online before all these years. But he gave me an audio CD with great quality rips.
Not sure, but will guess many blogs/websites that took it from here also should be grateful to him.
Buy some SPEWGORE shirts or CD's you jerks.
I don't want people thinking I'm a homo or something if I would have kept saying how awesome him and his band is every single time I used a demo I got off him.

2. IFYOUWANT (3:58)
3. INAWAY (4:03)

@160 [excellent copy!]

I grabbed these mp3's off ex-BEYOND Canadian singer/guitarist/artist Paul Garvey's website, when he had had relocated to Los Angeles,California,USA since the early 1990s.
These three tracks were the only songs available, and did not know how old they are.
If you know the obtuse, eclectic style of his alt rock / alternative metal 1990s CD band DARK ROOM, and before that, BEYOND's only album "Quantum Bummer", then you will like these songs.

Megiddo -The Final War album on cdr.
Found a poorly photocopied flyer, but figured somebody might want to see it.

This black metal /cult band sure made a worldwide impression. Well deserved from the Sodom, and Bathory/Quorthon woshipping ChorazaiM.

I still wish he would have let us copy his rehearsal demos from the late 1980s, as the song The Final War was so bleak and minimalist, scary, cut throat... it would have got him a record deal, as it was so out there...this was years before Dark Throne would try the same approach.

The only problem was, he was a perfectionist just getting the right guitar sound, and echo/reverb for vocals, he would spend days before even getting drums laid down, and I'm not sure if that was done.
Good luck finding any of that. There are only two guys I know who might have copied the tapes, and who knows if they kept them to this day.

I cut off the Queen street East PO box address that was at the bottom of the flyer, been long time out of use. That building might not even exist anymore, who knows.

FINALLY!! A raw live album from Piledriver!!

recorded Saturday "Oct.30th,2010 at Scout Hall in bumfuk Cochrane, Ontario. No sweeteners. No fixes."

From the samples I hear on the new site, this rips heads off! Sounds great to me.
Must be from the soundboard I guess.

I have been told that their NEW record label guarantees delivery!

"Canadian cult metal band THE EXALTED PILEDRIVER (a.k.a. PILEDRIVER) will release a new live album, "Night Of The Unpolished Turd", on April 1 via Sick Fuck Records. The CD was recorded on October 30, 2010 at the Scout Hall in Cochrane, Ontario, Canada and it features the following track listing:

01. Alien Rape
02. Piledriver
03. Metal Inquisition
04. Unsuck My Cock
05. Metal Manifesto
06. I'm The One
07. Sex With Satan
08. Witch Hunt
09. Last Day Of The Weak
10. The Executioner
11. The Fire God

You can pre-order the album at this location.
http://www.sickfuckrecords.com/#5

Commented the band: "[This is] an 'actual' live album, on an average night in Nowheresville, Northern Ontario, Canada. Not just the jewels in the rough, cherry-picked from 23 shows in front of some other headliner's huge audience, but ONE live performance in front of a handful of true Old-school metalheads, as is reality outside of Europe!!! The Pile-barkin' and band-playin' (every race-it-like-you-stole-it mistake included) are simply 666% GIVE 'ER TO HELL!!!!!! And the sound is waay too loud and 'wrong' at ANY volume on ANY system!!!! A true speaker-shredder as only PILEDRIVER could produce!!! Yer gonna need some industrial swabs to get this aural excrement outta yer ears, trust me!!!!"

THE EXALTED PILEDRIVER's first album in 22 years, "Metal Manifesto", was released on November 18, 2008. The CD was mixed by veteran Neil Kernon (CANNIBAL CORPSE, NEVERMORE) and it follows up the classic cult discography of the band: "Metal Inquisition" (1985) and "Stay Ugly" (1986).

PILEDRIVER was founded in 1985 by Gord Kirchin. They were known for an over-the-top image and flamboyant song titles/lyrics ("Sex With Satan", "Alien Rape", "Sodomize the Dead", "Witch Hunt", "Human Sacrifice", etc). Probably their best known song was the title track of their debut album, "Metal Inquisition", which featured in the chorus the sound of a falling guillotine blade chopping someone's head off. The album was followed by "Stay Ugly" a year later."

"...looking for distro-action!!!
If you would like to order up some for resale, know of someone who might, or even simply to pre-order one or two for yourself, drop me a line at piledriver@videotron.ca.
NO LABEL, NO WORRIES!!!!!!! These WILL get to you, really!!!"

some time around 1990, this bar started booking tribute bands, hard rock, hardcore, and thrash metal bands.

It had 2 bars inside - street level, and the basement.
Was next to a Bingo Hall I think.

By the way, April 26,1988 -
THIS night was the same one a gig at The Silver Dollar was happening.
Think it was Hallows Eve/Sacred Reich maybe.

Stephanie, Death Militia's manager at that time was pretty damn smart!
She booked this ALL-AGES SHOW and everybody that was turned away from the +18 gig over at The Silver Dollar showed up and got a dose of all local bands delivering great thrash!
I never even knew about it (That Sacred Reich or Hallows Eves show) until I was at this show, as I was a diehard fan of both Death Militia and Beyond and would have wanted to see them first anyways,

can't remember how many were there, but the club was pretty FULL!
so between 100-300 if ya need to know

there WAS a videotape of Beyond's killer set.. the original guy who filmed it Shane  from H.A.Y. HyperActiveYouth lost it or taped over the original, and you may now crank call Kevin Panko's father (Homer Simpson) for taping sports or some other shit over his copy.

Thanks to Chronic Aggression for showing this new bandcamp link.

Last year, got their demo tape back in my collection (Thanks! he knows who he is!)(which you can download for free now if you want).
Personally, never cared about all the controversy surrounding them, as long as I knew they weren't commies, that's enough for me I guess.

Along with the demo, a pretty good live recording, off the soundboard, also available -
http://negativeresponse.bandcamp.com/album/thicker-than-blood-live-marquee-jan-1993

Basic hardcore, influenced by NYHC, straightedge bands like Uniform Choice, and then some blurrs which is the D.R.I,., and grindcore influences (hardly shown).

they also played a hardcore version of the Sesame Street TV program song
(originally by The Cookie Monster)
"C is for Cookie".

hardcore music zines ruled!

IF, you have not yet checked out the site for which I am posting all the links from in this post, then it's about time you did.... especially if you want to learn, catch up, or reminisce about the hardcore/thrash/punk scene based in Toronto with mentions also about other Canadian cities and bands.

Equalizing Distort has done an amazing job,and once when I tried reading Every post, it took me days , or a week, and that is not including all the zine pdf uploads!

Here are a bunch of OLD fanzines that impressed me back in the day, or that I didn't get a hold of, but either I knew of the person behind it who was pretty cool, or there will be a band in it I dig.

ONCE in a while,
the editor of some of these fanzines would make a compilation tape for sale, supercheap with a small newsletter,and almost always, it was 100% jampacked with great bands with songs off demos or ep's;

songs we never heard on radio, not even college radio.

Tapetrading was essential back then, unless you were satisfied with buying import vinyl at the Record Peddler or maybe discovering a used gem, like at Driftwood Music.
